Attending

Coming to a Show

VRChat is a free social platform where people can hang out, explore worlds, and attend events as custom 3D avatars. You do not need a VR headset. You can join as a "desktop" player on PC, or through the mobile app on Android or iOS, no special hardware required. A VR headset (like a Meta Quest) gives you the most immersive experience, but everyone is welcome regardless of how they join.
Yes, completely free. VRChat itself is a free download across all platforms, and Punchline shows have no cover charge or ticket price. Just show up.
Yes, Punchline is 18+ only. Our shows feature adult comedy, strong language, and mature themes. Please respect this requirement. Moderators enforce it.
Yes, we ask you keep table talk to a minimum, don't heckle, and understand that Punchline allows comics free reign when it comes to their material (within reason), so you may hear some mildly offensive remarks. If you're disrupting the show, you will be warned by staff. If this warning is ignored, you will be removed from the instance. Multiple removals may lead to an outright ban from attending future shows.
Shows run every week at 9:00 PM EST inside VRChat. Doors open at 9:00 PM, and the show starts at 9:15 PM sharp. To find the active instance, join our VRChat group, you'll get a notification when the world opens before each show.
Join our VRChat group. When the show world opens, it will appear as the active group instance, tap it to join directly. You can also check our Discord where staff post an announcement before every show.
Yes, you need a free VRChat account. Note that brand-new accounts start at "Visitor" trust rank and may have limited access to some features. We recommend creating your account a day or two before the show so it has time to be promoted to "New User" rank, which unlocks full access. Playing for a short while or adding friends can speed this up.

Show Types

What We Run

We run several rotating formats:

Open Mic Anyone can sign up for a short set. Great for new and experienced performers alike.

Toast or Roast A themed roast or toast event, audience members and regulars take turns honoring (or destroying) someone.

Showcase Curated sets from our top regular performers. More polished, longer sets.

Bottom of the Barrel Improv-focused night where regulars riff on the spot. Expect chaos.
The upcoming shows schedule on the homepage lists the next six shows with their format and date. You can also follow @PunchlineVRC on Twitter/X or join the Discord for weekly announcements.
Yes, most shows are recorded and recordings are made available to comedians, but these recordings are not posted publicly to any page or channel. You can watch past clips in the Media archive on this site. We will reach out if we are interested in posting a clip from your set.

Performing

Getting on Stage

Absolutely, that's what Open Mic nights are for. Anyone 18+ can sign up for a short set. We also run Toast or Roast events where you are interviewed by a panel after your set. If you want to become a Regular with featured set time, keep coming back and get involved with the community.
Use the Show Sign-Up page on this site. Just enter your VRChat username and hit submit, it goes straight to our team. Sign-ups are only available for Open Mics and Toast or Roast shows, and they open two days before the show. You can also use the #show-signup channel in the Discord.
Open Mic sets are typically 3 minutes, Toast or Roast sets are typically 2 minutes.. You'll be flashed with a blinking red light when you're approaching your limit. If the show is running long, the host may tighten time slots, just roll with it.
Yes, and we genuinely encourage it. Open Mic exists for exactly this reason. The crowd at Punchline is supportive and loves seeing new faces give it a shot. Bomb on stage, kill on stage, either way, you'll have a good time. Just show up.

Community

Discord & Beyond
